A system administrator (sometimes abbreviated as sysadmin) is a person who is responsible for managing the reliable operations of computer systems, for the configuration and for managing a multi-user computing environment such as a local area network [LAN]. The system administrator responsibilities also includes installing and configuring system hardware and software, recovering tasks and also establishing and managing user accounts and upgrading software and backup.
There are multiple paths to becoming a system administrator. Many system administrators have a degree in a related field: computer science, information technology, computer engineering, information systems, or even a trade school program. inspite of having this all nowadays many copanies require an IT certification.
The system administrator seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources, and security of the computers they manages meet the needs of the users, without exceeding the budget.To meet these needs, a system administrator may acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software; provide routine automation; maintain security policies; troubleshoot; train and/or supervise staff; or offer technical support for projects.
